  Well the clocks have been wound back and Easter is behind us - we all know what that
  means - winter is not far away.  Take advantage of the warm sunny days and light winds to freshen up the inside of your home while you can - get out those stored blankets and covers and rinse in EUCALYPTUS WOOL WASH - so clean and
  fresh!

  
  Armed with a light GREEN STRIPE solution and the trusted ORANGE STRIPE my own cleaning agenda began. Fabric dining room chairs, cushion covers, blanket
  throwovers,doona covers.  The results were amazing!  The venetian blinds and
  glass and mirrors never missed out either. Long live ORANGE STRIPE.

  
  A velour lounge had a 'facelift' too. My external deck resembled a garage sale.
  Every item was either sprayed,scrubbed, washed.  The only item missing was a sign
  saying - USING PROKLEAN PRODUCTS ONLY. But the results spoke for themselves.

  The only warning I would give regarding the above - make sure you have some
  relaxation the following day - the sheer satisfaction of a job well done is encouraging.

• Hands On...... in Elizabeth writes...

  Have you ever considered how much work we ask our hands to do for us, I guess its the same with our feet. We take them so much for granted, until they give us a problem.                                                                                                                            
  I love the picture of the different generations of hands featured - as they say a picture
  tells a thousand stories.     Isn't it thought provoking.  
  Look after your hands, especially with the cold weather thats just around the corner.Wear rubber gloves as often as you can and mosturise, mosturise!
  Sorbolene and Glycerine - a good stand by, is a good protector.  For all over the body
  actually and for the FEET to!  Proklean's Hand & Body Wash & Hand Soap also contains moisturisers.

  With all the rain we have had lately, the glass and mirrors tend to pick up the moisture
  and appear  hazy.  Prokleans WINDOWS PLUS to the rescue.  My home has lots of
  windows and glass top tables and its so easy to use for a fantastic result.  Quick drying and  streak free.  Its especially effective on oven doors, ceramic cook tops
  and I spray the glass panels and knobs on the oven that are usually hard to do.
  The results are so impressive.

  Do you have any ceramic surfaces that are stained - tea/coffee cup stains, water
  marks on toilet bowls?  Well, I have passed this hint on to several customers - wet the surface and sprinkle on Prokleans PRE-SOAK.  In the case of cups, I fill the cups with warm water, leave for 30 minutes or more, then rinse well.  Good for plastic chopping boards too. Stained drain grates in the basin and bath respond to the same treatment.

• Has the rain really stopped.....ssh!!! in Elizabeth writes...

  I don't think its true any more,  that 'the rain falls mainly in the plains' - do you?  I think it falls whenever and wherever it feels like it!  Haven't we had a drop or two - and if your house is like mine, it's starting to feel a little damp and musty.

  PROKLEAN products are always there to the rescue. What I find most effective is SPRING FRESH and SUMMER MIST (pardon the pun with the last product line). Two of our favourite and popular room deodorizers - in fact they are excellent for the car, boat, caravan etc.

  I lightly mist spray throughout the house in the mornings, (alternating with the different perfumes weekly) and it not only takes away that musty smell but leaves a light refreshing fragrance.  Also assists in eliminating animal odours. EXCELLENT for teenagers rooms as well!!!!!!!!!

• Blast away for the best 2012...... in Elizabeth writes...

  A big hello to all......This is my first blog for the new year and may we wish you the very best for 2012 filled with lots of anticipation and motivation!   Hope you had a wonderful Christmas  -  my own was tinged with sadness having said my last goodbye to  Dad of 94 years. I had been my Dad's full time carer for over three years  since my Mother passed in 2008. For those who have had or are still doing this job, it can be  very demanding but looking back now, personally I am pleased I was able to "hang in there".  He is probably giving my Mum a hard time as we speak, but as the old saying goes........Until we meet again xo.

  BUZZ WORDS and SPIN! I am a little over these adjectives that seem to be thrown around as daily conversation. Global warming, environment issues, carbon tax - yes we all know the world needs to be protected and I believe most of us are doing just that in our own way.  But you can perhaps understand why I get a tad irritated - we at PROKLEAN have been doing just that for over 23 years.

  When we first began, our mission was to  reduce packaging, containers, refill, reduce and educate on the use of water soluable, cost effective, non toxic household cleaning and laundry products. Eliminating that walk down the "cleaning aisle" of the supermarket  where confusion reigns(and you probably sneezed). Most of all we wanted an Australian Made & Owned product and to give the customers a 'real choice' that made a difference.  A difference in the wallet and a difference in performance.  Our commercial cleaning expertise and experience was to be shared with our customers.  Market research for us was to observe what was being placed into the shopping carts of households with respect to cleaning/laundry products before food was even purchased - most of the items being toxic and I believe not too many labels were read!  Did we notice where these products originated from - I suspect not, simply because it was too small a print to read.  We strongly believed PROKLEAN could and DOES make a real difference - NOT BAD FOR AN APPRENTICESHIP OVER 23 YEARS.....

  We continue to strive for excellence in our products and service to our customer base - many proudly we state have been with us from the first day we opened our doors.  Now we have their extended families and the word is spreading.

  This year we will be reviewing our packaging/containers and looking for some new ideas to pass your way. Along with many cleaning and cost saving  techniques. Good to be back on deck again - don't forget  to browse our catalogue and take advantage of our economical delivery service. We are always open to your suggestions and ideas too!

• Merry Christmas in Elizabeth writes...

  Well I really can't believe it's that time of the year again - and have you every noticed that Santa NEVER ages!  At least something stands still.  Its not really the time to talk 'cleaning' but as that is what we are all about can I remind you of a few of our trusty products that never let us down, especially at Christmas time. 

  Take the humble "ham bag" - after use, a light spray with our Orange Stripe and a good soak in the Laundry Pre-Soak and your ready for the next year. The accidental spills on carpets and linen respond to a light spray with Orange Stripe as well.

  And no matter how hard you try with seafood, that elusive prawn head manages to stay behind or fall out of the bin liners. Our Deodorant Cleaners(Hospital Grade Disinfectants) will kill the germs and mask that odour.  I use the Jelly Bean fragrance for our wheelie bin and also to spray on our deck where the native birds often visit. Lots of other fragrances available.

  If you haven't tried our new fragrance to mist and freshen the rooms, especially with the rainy weather we have been having that tends to make everything musty, our newest room spray, SUMMER MIST is delightful. Very much like a Calvin Klein perfume.

  Well enough of the cleaning chatter - its been pleasant to talk with you, our customers and friends, this year.  Many of you have been with us since we opened some twenty odd years ago and for this a big thanks.  We have obviously fitted the bill with our products - but most of all you have remained loyal. We will be looking for new opportunities in the new year and to make your cleaning chores that much easier.

• Using Proklean products....is easy in Elizabeth writes...

  Our customers tell us that using Proklean products is easy and they love the results achieved and the money they save . Thats what we love to hear! Our shopping bus ladies are starting their regular trips to our showroom now - more often than not they have never visited us before - and they are quite literally surprised at what they find. As they say, we all know cleaning can be boring but Proklean products make it interesting and addicitive!!!!

  Our philosphy is simple - we aim to be kind to the earth, deliver a product that satisfies our customers needs both in performance and economy and provide quality service.

  Proklean products are concentrated which creates in itself savings in water and energy use . Flare and Snowite Laundry powders for example, are low sudsing so require less water to wash away excess suds . Orange Stripe and Purple Stripe are others, among many products in store that are water efficient and of course economical. A one litre bottle(fully concentrated) makes 10 x 500ml bottles of ready to use product. Its hard to select our customers 'favourites' - they all have different "loves" . • Radio Waves in Elizabeth writes...

  This week like all others, has flown by and looking at the deciduous trees at home, the little buds are starting to "wake" up.   Next month September, really makes me feel on top of the world! But beware........last night there was a load scream from the bathroom and lots of noise, we had a funnel web spider take up residence.  Be on the lookout - they are deadly.       

                                       We actually made the "radio waves" this week.  Radio 2GB have a segment titled Business Card that gives small business the opportunity to discuss the positives of their business on open radio,  and we were invited to do so.   Thank you 2GB - we now have new Proklean members.      

                                                                                                                                 Do   you feed the native birds at home?  We do and it is a real joy to watch the various behaviours and personalities - the downside however, is the mess they can leave.  Every week I disinfect with our Purple Stripe or Lavender and Apple.  It is very effective and pleasantly fragrant.  Small inconvenience for the pleasure the bring to us.    Enjoy your day  - Elizabeth.                                                                                                     

   

   

     

                                     
• Get Sorted in Elizabeth writes...

  "Doesn't the house look nice Mum" - well yes it did but, really, all I had done was "pick up and put away". Half our cleaning routine is made so much easier by 'decluttering' on a daily basis. Just give it a try - at the end of the day pick up and put out of sight those papers and other things that clutter. I can find shoes all over the house, its like we have a centipede living here. Pick them up and throw them in a container(I don't mean rubbish container) - you will soon find someone looking for them. I feel so much more organised in the morning when I reach the kitchen and the benches have been wiped over with ORANGE STRIPE the night before and everything is fresh and clean (we do have lapses in our routine - but I really try hard! Spring is just around the corner YIPPEE and get ready for our spring cleaning activities. I've started with a few things like the filters above the hot plates, air conditioner filters and IF you haven't already used our KLEAN-OFF why NOT! - it's the best.   If this is your first visit to our site, welcome!  We will endeavour to assist you with information and ideas for making your life a little easier when it comes to CLEANING.  Well thats our aim.

  CLEANING is always 'work in progress' and housework is only one category. Having a full time job, being a parent, its very hard to get EVERYTHING done and yes "try" and relax. We tend to have too much pressure in our lives these days.   I remember when the concept of our brand began, the criteria was for a simple,cost effective and easy to understand product.  After thirty years of tweaking and testing I can say without a doubt, we have the best!.

  A clean house has a psychological presence about it - calming, pleasant,self satisfying (stay with me here) they may be only brief moments until the family arrives home, but at least you will know the feeling.  Of course there is also the fact you are protecting your environment by keeping the areas clean and hygienic.

  Cleaning,Disinfecting,Sanitizing what is that?  Cleaning  is removing soil etc with all-purpose cleaner.  Disinfecting is destroying bacteria/pathogens. Sanitizing reduces the number of microorganisms to a safe level.

  A mention here about bleach - we all know its effective but the dangers of using bleach outweigh the advantages. Mixing bleach with ammonia and other chemicals causes toxic gases.  Is it worth the risk???

  Using Proklean can make a difference, not only to our planet - but also to our budgets. 

  Now a little bit of trivia for you "WHY DOES THE CUTLERY DRAWER ALWAYS COLLECT BREAD CRUMBS"??? I don't really know I hope YOU DO.

   

   

   

   

   
• Hand Hygiene by Welcome

  How often have your heard your parents as you were growing up say "Wash your hands'!

  Just lately I have picked up so many articles on hands washing and hand hygiene it makes me think of the saying 'everything old is new again'. Its so simple and obvious - we seem to be slipping in the very basics of life - its not rocket science - just pure common sense.

  Only this week I was speaking with some very special customers (who were celebrating 50 years of married life) they will know who I mean - about the method of cleaning in the hospital some years ago.

  Remember when the noisy cleaning/polishing machine used to come around when you were visiting - under the beds - around the trolleys.You could'nt talk while they were in the room could you! As a matter of fact the trolleys were wiped down including bed heads etc. This would happen several times a day if you happend to do more than one visit to your loved one. No wonder we read such things as I did in our local paper recently;

  "Cleaning you hands can help save lives"

  Just recently St.George & Sutherland Hospitals demonstrated how swabs taken from the hands of staff had dramatic reduction in organisms before and after hand sanitation. Its well documented that one of the most important measures for preventing the spread of pathogens is effective hand washing.

  Keep a bottle of alcohol-based wash in your car, bag, golf buggy - whatever you never know who has touched that item before you!. On my holidays overseas a few years ago - we took three bottles of our Hand Wash Sanitiser - and it was VERY WELCOME. Until next time WASH YOUR HANDS................................

  CLEANING - does it really matter?? Well you only have to leave it go for a while to understand this question. It is a personal choice as to when and how we perform the duties but it can be a thankless task in the respect of no sooner it's done then it needs to be done again. From a commercial cleaning aspect, it creates the employment. Thats good.

  My learning curve with cleaning began some 31 years ago when I entered the commercial cleaning industry. What a wake up call. I thought it was just a mattter of doing exactly what I used to do at home. WRONG you suddenly leave the "mop and bucket" mentality behind. More of this in later 'writes'.

  The formula for efficient cleaning either home or in a commercial application is simple - the correct equipment, environmentally friendly cleaning products and the correct cleaning procedures.

  For over 24 years under the PROKLEAN banner, we have endeavoured to take the mystery out of cleaning and simplify the use of safe cleaning products. Our products performance "speaks for itself".
